The Saffron Revolution: A new Victory and a new Hope for Burma.
Burma's latest political turmoils in September 2007 has at last awakened the international community. More importantly, the Saffron Revolution managed to push the Burmese peoples towards a higher satge of politcal consciousness. Whether one is living inside the country or in the exile, all Burmese - regardless of ethnicity - are awakened by this revolution to realize that it is time to unitedly heighten the struggle and that victory will come soon, not later.
Observers form the outside world seem to be sceptic and underestimate the impact of this Saffron Revolution on the future of Burma or the peoples' long struggle for freedom itself. The impact of this Saffron Revolution, though ernomous in reality, may be too small to be observed under the microscopic lens of these Burma watchers. It is true that the brutal crack down by the military junta against the uprisings has silenced the demonstrations. The military junta want the world to believe that they are the only powerful force in Burma and no one whosoever has ever been able to shake their iron-fisted grip on the country and its population. And some observers easily fall into this trap created by the Burmese military junta. So some outsiders voice their sceptism. They see a hopeless future for Burma's struggle for democracy and freedom while the Burmese people are feeling that victory is coming even closer with the brutal crackdown of the Saffron Revolution.
The following articles will examine the reality of the impact of this Saffron Revolution.
